Selling Accounts

I suspect that VZW closed the loophole wherein a person could transfer their account to someone else with everything intact. I have four lines sharing a 2000 minute pool, all with unlimited data at $9.95/month per line. Rather than just cancel it and make Big Red's day, I considered selling the account.

Is that still possible, or is that loophole long since closed?

Thanks!

I would like to buy it. I know it is an old post. Crossing my fingers. I checked and VZ said I could transfer unlimited data to my business account.

Unlimited Data Plans are restricted to ONLY the original owner of that account....

VZW will not allow anyone to "take ownership" of any unlimited account plan.

Those old plans have gone the way of the dinosaurs, they are extinct for all practicable purposes.

And, the unlimited data is restricted to ONLY the original line number to which it was assigned, you cannot move it to a 2nd line in your family account. Been there, done all that....

I just talked to Verizon this week and they said i could do it (move an unlimited plan in to our business account).

Download Go90 app to get 2gb free data monthly, thanks big red.

took a look at the reports on it, and saw statements that the UI is not very friendly.
also complaints of having to watch advertisements....

think I will just stick with NetFlix, start movie, eat popcorn, hit pause and run to bathroom, back to recliner, hit play and No Advertisement to skip.

as some of the users reported, my Verizon bill is already above the 2 century mark, I refuse to watch advertising.... oh, my NetFlix? it goes to the big TV on the wall, not to my cellphone.

I am also interested. Do you still have any lines with unlimited data available?

I did, but I'm back on VZW Unlimited Data Plan simply because the T-Mo coverage map LIED about LTE in my area. Verizon was kind enough to restore my 4 lines of UDP... although I suspect that my $9.95 promotion is wiped out. That means I'm going to end up paying a ton for the UDP lines. Since I can't trade off my lines, I'll likely end up on the XXL plan soon.

Are you getting rid of your unlimited data plans?

If they jack the price up too high, I'll have little choice. Hard to justify $100/line for four lines. That's a bitter pill to swallow. The son (my other data hog) will likely shift to his own plan on another carrier that has better coverage in his area... the Darling Bride & Sister in law use very little data... leaving me to use the shared data, for the most part. Keeping them unlimited and paying out the tailpipe for it? It's hard for me to justify that expense.

it would appear you are going to just have to bite the bullet and turn the other family members loose and let them fend for themselves. I was the Sugar Daddy for way too long, and then I lost my Employer's Discount when I retired, and all of that came to a screeching halt.

It's not about letting family fend for themselves... it's a matter of economics. Sister in law and son pay their share of the bill to me... if our UDP goes up too much per line, then they, too, are better off on a plan. Particularly the son, who now lives in another state and is better served by another provider. Since I'll be the only real data hog on the 3-line plan, it will make little sense to stay UDP and pay exorbitant amounts of money for data they hardly even use.
