Help Sending gifs with Gboard

I'm using Samsung messaging app with Gboard I am unable to attach the picture of gif from the board. It says unable to attach file. Can anyone help?

I also downloaded Android message as well it works. Funny when I go back to the Samsung messaging the gif works with in the message I sent from the Android messaging, it just won't attach from Samsung messaging
 
Ok so I really don't like the Samsung keyboard so I downloaded the Google keyboard.. I am trying to get it to attach GIFs to text messages. It actually has a option where if u hit the G it gives u options to add animated emojis and GIFs... But when I try to attach a GIF to a text it says unable to attach. It anyone else using this keyboard and having this issue?
 
Is anyone else using the Google keyboard on their note8? I'm not a big fan of Samsung's keyboard, especially after having my pixel XL. So I downloaded the Google keyboard, but I can't send/attach the gifs that are available from the Google keyboard. Is there a way to fix this?
 
Apparently the Samsung messaging app doesn't allow gif's from Google keyboard. You can use a different messaging app from the play store.

Like Google messenger or textra or any other other messaging app

I'm using Gboard with Google Messages - works perfect. New feature in Gboard are those dreaded stickers... lol
 
I just got Gboard last night because it has built in Bitmoji and I can send my Bitmoji's easier now. I mainly use Facebook Messenger and have a couple group conversations there but for my Dad I use the regular Samsung Messaging app on my Note 8 and I see where it doesn't work and won't attach. I googled and it took me here. I used to useTextra but when my 7 edge let me do separate text tones for people I just kept using it plus your themes match and I like themes another reason I've always used the stock keyboard it matches the theme. But now I like the Gboard keyboard and I guess I'm gonna have to use Textra again. I know some say Android messages which is better? Sorry I just realized this is an old thread.
 
Oh Thanks, I used to use Textra so I got it again. I mostly text people through FB messenger but my dad we text and I needed to send him a gif and I love how Bitmoji is added on to G-Board that is why I mainly got it. Only thing I don't like on Textra is the bubbles on Samsung messages you see a little circle next to the text with your picture which is no big deal on Textra you see their picture up top or in the main conversation. And also to delete a message on Textra unless their is a different shortcut you have to hit twice after holding down or swiping the message but I am happy with Textra and being able to use G-Board so I'm good. I have a friend that loves SwiftKey I tried it once and went back to the Samsung original cause I liked how it matched your theme but because of Bitmoji's I chose G-Board and am happy with it for now.
