Sending Pictures with Sprint Hero

I have a Sprint Hero Htc that I just flashed with a ZENEXP rom, and I'm having trouble sending pictures. I've tried using Handcent and Messages, but I know my plan has the ability to do it. The picture will just show up with that rotating circle, and won't ever get sent. Anyone know what to do?

For now, send a smaller file. I'm working with a developer SomeGuyMMS to port sMMS to android.
