Sending video on Whatsapp - no resolution reducing

Hello,
I have a Galaxy 2, and in the whatsapp (version 2.11.226) application, when I try to send a large video, he offers me to cut the video when the proposed resolution is the same resolution as the original, so I had to send only part of the video.
On my wife's phone, also galaxy2 (whatsapp version 2.11.186), it offers a lower resolution, allowing to send the video in full.
I'd like to know why my phone does not offer to reduce resolution .
