Help senor doesn't work in dark

i have got karbonn A12+ phone from recent day i m facing such a irritating problem whenever i make a call in a room or any other place where direct sunlight isn't available my sensor doesn't work but when i make a call in such a place where direct sunlight is available my sensor does work properly .
can you guy fix my problem up and is it a hardware or software problem please do mention that .
i hope for the best solution

If you just got the device, to rule out software (unlikely but...) do a factory reset. If it still happens, then it may be hardware related.
Do you have any screen protectors on it or a case? Perhaps take those off first, just in case there is any interference from those.

If the sensors are responding per the test app but not when you're using the phone, it's likely software.

If the sensors misbehave for the test app, it's likely hardware.

Sir my sensor do work properly i came to know this by the app you suggested me ... But my phone still black out whenever i make calls what to now
