Help Sensors not working on HTC One X

fjsb

Lurker
So I'm new to the Android world and I have been having some problems with the sensors on HTC One X, having looked around the web all day I have not found any solutions that I am comfortable trying without consulting with someone that has some experience with Android.

Disclaimer: This is a used phone that I received a couple of days ago, I lost my phone and a friend gave me this one. I do not know how the phone was treated in the past, but the sensors are not working and I am doing some troubleshooting to try to find a solution.

I downloaded an app that was supposed to test these sensors named Phone Tester (Aceceleromoter, light sensor, gyro, temp etc) but gives me the feedback that my device does not have these sensors. I mean, that can't be right? I know it should be able to rotate and stuff, so something is wrong... but what?

Could it be that I need some drivers or something? Like I mentioned, I'm new to Android so I really don't know what to do about this.

Since my phone don't even lists the hardware I am worried they might be broken, but again - I have no idea. Everything else is working fine, so it's weird that the sensors alone should be broken.

I greatly appreciate any feedback!

Hello, Frank, welcome to Android Forums! :)

If you could go to the menu and provide a little info:

Settngs=>About=>Software information

Also, it may be simple, but certainly worth giving a go:

1.- Turn off your htc one x
2.- Then hold Power Button and Volume up+ for 10 seconds aprox.
3.- You will see that the 3 buttons in the down side of the screen begins to flash
4.- Then, release the power button and just keep hold down the volume up, until the phone boots up fully.
5.- You can see that its more slower than if you only turn on in normal mode, and something in this procedure, makes the internal memory and ram, reboots completely without erase all your data, apps, mails or contacts
6.- then the G-sensor become to work

Come back and let us know how you get on :)
