sent myself a gmail w/attached AVI and cannot d/l on phone

AVI file attached to gmail on Droid only offers PREVIEW as an option and my Rock Player app (which would play it) does not appear on list of apps to use. Movies and Video Player only come up and unlike Windows, there is no ability to browse for an app. (something that should be added to android).

Is there a setting somewhere to fix up this goofiness? Been looking, but so far no luck.

Why bother having email app at all.. K-9 not letting me do with Fastmail either.

got blackmoon attachsaver and blackmoon file browser from market. Attachsaver is added to list of choices when preview pressed and the browser allows us to select a different location to save the file, AVI in this case.

Works with the gmail client, but not K-9.

yes, no response. I will post solution later.

problem is/was only with AVI file (so far). I am assuming it will happen in future for any file type that there is nothing on the Droid to handle.
