Help Seriously ruined phone??

Hey guys, just wondering If I could get some advice.

Had the misfortune of getting this phone (dext) on contract last year.

First problem was always with battery life. In the UK we were promised updates to 2.1 but that never happened so I had the ongoing problem with having to charge it 2 or 3 times a day (since there was no battery management on the version I had)

Anyway I got on with it, until the screen died for no reason. I got onto orange who saw the fault and gave me another on warranty.

After a while I got annoyed with having to charge it that much constantly. Im a busy person and not always at home so if im away for a few days its a nightmare.

I flashed it about 5 months ago to android 2. Battery lasted a lot long and the phone was generally better.

The other day the backing cover kept coming loose. Some of the plastic bits had fallen off.

Within a few hours the phone seriously started to play up.

If the keyboard was slid shut the screen would lock up and be cropped (so you can view the same 1/2 of screen twice) and not be responsive at all. With the keyboard slid open it would be fine though.

Now it wont work at all.

When I power up the phone it freezes at a screen that looks like static from an untuned tv (but with more colors).

If I try to put it into recovery mode either it freezes saying "please release the camera key" or it goes to the next screen ("volume up to enter recovery") but once again freezes and nothing I press responds.

Any suggestions?

thanks
