First I've heard of an update, maybe its to 4.2.2? On phones updates typically break root. Please let us know.

I've even performed a factory reset & still no update.

(SETTINGS > ABOUT TABLET)
This is what I have w/o an update:

KERNEL VERSION: 3.1.10

same here...I bought my Ser0 7 Pro on TUE.
Today it updated to P756.6.02.11.00
I think I am ready to root, but all instructions I have found thus far are a bit
confusing to me. Can someone please point me to a link with easy to follow instructions?
(I am not new to rooting - have done it MANY times on several Android devices, it
is just the rooting instructions that I have found for this tablet are not syncing
to my head ;-)

I received the update again last night.
The first time was unsuccessful and I suspected that it was because my tablet is rooted.
Lo and behold it tried again, worked successfully and then informed me that the update may have broken root and offered to fix it.
I told it to and I'm now updated and still rooted.
Very cool.
