Service Always Syncing (AT&T Contacts SyncML Service)

The title says it... for some time something has been constantly syncing on my phone. Did a lot of messing around and found that AT&T Contacts SyncML Service is the culprit. I stop it, then a few seconds later it tries to synce again... you can't disable it... thoughts?

Stock HTC One X. Not rooted.

Unfortunately, unless you find a way to disable AT&T contacts via settings>apps>manage apps, there's no way to really stop it unless you're rooted. I can't say for sure if it can be disabled because it's been a while since I've run the stock ROM. Hopefully someone else can say for sure.
