Set 2nd SIM ringtone.

Hello. Ive got a phone which has 2 sims. I want to set the ringtone separately on each sims but its not possible in settings. When I tried those apps which should do it they were buggy/not working.

I am now trying to get some info from OP 5T (which has the option to set ringtone separately) and found out that OnePlus added that feature to its rom (so its not available in AOSP).

I was wondering if there would be some solution like making app which will start the ringtone picker (com.android.providers.media.RingtonePickerActivity) with some parameter that will it set the ringtone to SIM2.

Thanks.

So I take it that you can access both SIM cards, Is that correct?

Ok let's troubleshoot this issue, on SIM 1
Select a contact and try editing ringtone with device stock ringtone and see if it works?

I am fully able to set each contact ringtone or i am able to set both sims at once ringtone, however I need to set other ringtone for sim1 and 2m

Okay I'm missing something here, so if you're able to perform each task I don't understand the issue you're having unless you're trying to set a ringtone both at the same time or another one outside the stock ringtones?

All dual-SIM phones I've had could set separate ringtones for each SIM in the settings, which are Huawei, Oppo, Samsung and Lenovo.

Maybe the whatever it is phone you've got just doesn't have this feature? Which I think is definitely an omission. "AOSP"?? ...are you using a custom ROM or something on it? If so, that would require the ROM developer to fix it.

AOSP is Android Open Source Project - Pure/Vanilla android. It doesnt have that feature. And the rom on the device is barely edited so the ringtone settings are same as on pure/vanila/aosp android.

That would be something that the ROM developer would need to address, to add this feature into their custom ROM build.

On stock ROMs on dual-SIM phones, it's the manufacturers that implement the separate ringtones for SIM1 and SIM2 feature AFAIK. So there may not be any third-party apps to do it.

Yes I know that. But I am asking HOW would the custom rom implement it - you need to add to settings some option which starts ringtone picker with some sim2 parameter. And thats what I am searching for.
