Help Set CPU in performance settings?

How in cyanogenmod the performance menu is working ? I mean in CPU set... If I set minimum freq. 1000 and max is 1200 my CPU will work only in 1000-1200 freq. ? What's the hazard in freq. setting.. ? I heard its will eat my battery more like now.. thats right ? And thats all ? someone enlighten me please! (sorry for english fails)

The min you set is the lowest your CPU will go. The max is the highest it will go.

It will bounce between those two values as needed depending on the governor you select

Phone will suffer something ?
The phone just will use 1200 when it needs?

Higher speeds = more battery used. Too high speeds and you'll get random reboots


The phone will only use high speeds when needed.
