Set waypoints and plot driving directions from any address to waypoints or between waypoints?

I am looking for an app that will allow me to set waypoints when I am physically at a point. Then I want to be able to plot driving directions from any address to any waypoint and from any waypoint to any waypoint or address.

In Google Maps you could star the places and later you could put the stars or addresses in Google navigation for to create direction routes.

More comfort you'll get with 'MyPlaces'.
From a list of your saved places the app let you use any of your nav apps, e.g. Google navigation.

There was also this app, recently, that you stuck a bunch of addresses in – a.k.a. waypoints if you will, and then it would plot the best route to and between them and give you turn-by-turn directions. Ideal for couriers and other delivery route drivers.
Or is that not what you're looking for?

That's 'BestRoute' :)

CoPilot allows you to set favourite locations that can be used flexibly as waypoints or destinations.

Thanks but I am looking for an all in one application that will allow me to simply press an icon to set a waypoint and then enter a name for the waypoint. After the waypoints are saved I need the ability to chart driving directions to and from the waypoints.

You're confusing yourself.

I recommend you use the word 'addresses', instead of 'waypoints', when you speak of land-based navigation in traffic. 'Waypoints' confuses the issue. You're not navigating featureless open water or a desert, after all. You're navigating, dodging and weaving, through traffic, following predetermined roads.

What you're looking for is exactly what the BestRoute app does best (as its name implies :) ).
[Thanks, Harry].

"Simply press an icon to set a waypoint and then enter a name for the waypoint" would then become, even simpler!, "enter an address". Repeat as needed until you have entered all addresses (your 'waypoints') on that route. Then press "Plot Best Route", and BINGO, you're on your way!

I tried out Best Route. It will not let me key a name for a location, it will only let me select an address.
I need to be able to key a unique label for each point. Also, when I loose a data connection my phone
would not set a location even though it still had gps.

For navigating without data connection a premium nav app with its maps pre-installed on the SD card would be the best solution.
Navigon or CoPilot are my favorites.

The apps let you save your particular location as favorite (saved as coordinates, not as address) and let you give a name for the place.
So you'll get a list with places which you can set as destinations.
