Setcpu Not Increasing Performance

Hi, I just recently got a Optimus T which I immediately rooted and flashed. I then proceeded to download a kernel to overclock it with Setcpu (804mhz), and I tested my new overclock with Quadrant Standard. The score was somewhere around 1050 which was surprising considering my old score with the proc clocked at 600mhz was around 900. What's going on? Should I reinstall the kernal and Setcpu?

I think you are now into the law of diminishing returns on overclocking a 600 MHz CPU I'm afraid. it would appear that you are nearing the limit, if not already there, for your CPU/kernel and could even run the risk of damaging your handset by pushing it even further.

Why not download SmartBench 2011, free from the Market, and run a test with that and see how it compares with other Optimus T users/overclockers.

You could always hunt around for a different kernel to see if that helps.

Hope this helps. :D

In my experience, Quadrant is not that reliable.

You could also download AnTuTu, free from the Market.

Bear in mind that all of them use different criteria for benchmarks and so numbers do not correspond between app's.
