SetCPU on droid eris

Hey guys, I got my Eris a few months ago, but i just rooted it this morning. The root took and i downloaded setCPU to overclock it. however, after reading a lot of posts on these forums 710 seems to be a good number to hit and my eris sliders wont go past 528. I'm new to overclocking and rooting in general, so be gentle.

What rom are you running? Also could have something to do with the kernel you've got.

I just ran a apk called Eris Rooter, and it booted a file called "rootme.zip" it seemed easy enough and for a first-timer i was afraid that i was gonna brick it so something easy was welcome.

that's were i got it from. it seemed ok especially since i didnt have to wipe my apps and contacts. but im aware its probably not the best rom i could be using

with jwmacdon's help, i was able to just root with EvilEris. the problem was the ROM i was using was setting the max CPU at 520ish. EvilEris allows it to go to 760ish.
