Another good resource is a thread by TheImpaler over at XDA:

These resources will guide you on your quest to get started. The best advice I can give is to be patient. This won't sink in after one night it'll take a couple of weeks to get it down. Get organised right off the bat, this will save a lot of headaches down the road.
