SG s3 i9300 -Omega Rom Shutting Down phone.

Hello Gentlemen/Ladies, (If any).

Thanks for accepting me as a member!
I am no techie but I do find my way around PCs and phones but i am having an issue with my Samsung Galaxy s3 i9300. I recently installed the Omega v51-XXXUGMJ9 Android 4.3 version on the phone. Everything else seems to be working well except that it seems to shut down when on lock screen after about 15-30 minutes. However in that state, it seems to consume power from battery nevertheless. No calls or data can be received also. I will have to reboot the phone to use it.

Could you please help!!

Many thanks.

Hello Papachoonks. Welcome to Android Forums. We will have a root area for your S3 and it will be the best area for you to get support for your problem. Being as the root information is carrier specific you will have to choose which area to read and ask for assistance. Here is a link to the S3 area: Samsung Galaxy S3 - Android Forums
Once there, scroll to the bottom of the page to access the root area links. Good luck...

Hi, I live in the Island of Trinidad and Tobago. My carrier is bmobile. But I must thank you very much for your help. I will follow the link and see what happens.
Thanks again.

I would guess that your phone/carrier will parallel another and you can find the info you seek. It will take some effort on your part to establish which root sub forum to use however. It's very important to follow the right path.

I have search that forum but I have found nothing similar to what I'm experiencing. But I shall soldier on until something comes up.
Tks.

You might start a thread asking if another shares your problem. You will want to start it in the root area that best matches your phone/carrier. I wish I had more to offer. Best of luck to you.

Hey Gentlemen, I have decided and have reinstalled the Rom and everything seems to be fine now.
Thank you both for your interest.
Bye for now.

Thanks. I am happy to know that. As you have mentioned it, I observed for quite a while now that Viber is not working on my home WiFi and I have searched various other forums for a solution but the problem persists.
What suggestions can you offer?
My router is a WD My Net N900.
Thanks for the opportunity.

I'm not familiar with the app Papachoonks. I assume you are using it through your phone to connect to your router? You might try removing the app and installing again. That will at least eliminate the app being the problem. You might ask in your phone's support area if any others have some experience / advice with Viber and your phone. Good luck.

Hi,
Thanks for your response. Viber is a
VOIP app somewhat like Skype.
I have done all of what you have suggested and more without success.
The app works only on Public WiFi on my phone.

That does seem an odd one alright. Your phone, no doubt, enjoys connectivity with your WIFI. I can't think it's router related. However, a test might be to try Skype or something similar to test if your router is refusing such a connection. I'm no WIFI guru or I'd put forth some suggestions in that vein. I do think you will be best served by posing your problem in your device area. Good luck.

The phone works excellent on Skype. Also, Viber works great on mobile data, which I forgot to mention earlier.
Anyway, thank you again!
Bye for now.
