Help SGS3 and Swype

I upgraded to the SGS3 on Wednesday after two years using the SGS1. One thing I loved about my last phone was the Swype keyboard and when I upgraded, I expected to find a flashier version of it.

What have Samsung done? The new Swype is terribly unreliable, it doesn't recognise half my words and I get sooo frustrated having to manually type my words in.

Can someone shed some light?

I'm afraid I can't get along with those iPhone style keyboards where you type each individual character. I'm used to the Swype keyboard where you swipe your finger to form your words.

Just found out that Swype wasn't pre-installed on the SGS3 (link) so I've manually downloaded it. So glad to have it back!!!

I actually thought the SG3 stock keyboard was better than the tap-tap one on the HTC Desire HD I had. So much so, I did ponder over just keeping it that way.

Couldn't resist going back to Swype though..so my text messages will be cryptic again (I'm too impatient to proof read, sometimes) ;)

Yes, I could see how confusing the stock keyboard with Swype would've led you to conclude that Swype took a HUGE step backward. After using stock and another swipe-style keyboard (TouchPal), I am still amazed at Swype's ability to correctly interpret my less-than-perfect traces.
