Almost everyone collects something at one point in time, and I thought why not have everyone share what they are proud of?
I don't have very big collections of things at the moment but I do enjoy finding coins people just assume are worth face value.
The first thing I have is a cannon shell from Richard Nixon's inauguration, not only is it a shell that was fired, it is the first shot fired. I got this from my dad, he was in the army and was in the cannon brigade (not sure if thats the proper terminology) that fired the cannons at Nixon's inauguration. That day he was assigned one thing, and that was to keep track of the first shell that was fired. After the inauguration each man was allowed to take a shell to remember the day. My dad knowing which shell was first fired took that one.
Along with the shell I have his certificate with Richard Nixon's signature thanking him for his service on that day.
The other thing I have that I like is my Buffalo Head nickel. I got it in my change one day at the local store here. It is a 1925 D and in its condition it is worth around 30 - 35 USD
I also have a few Susan B Anthony dollar coins that I got as tips while I use to take out groceries. I have $20 worth of uncirculated 2 dollar bills that I got as Christmas presents as a kid.
Thats what I have, who else would like to share what they collect?
