Shared pictures blurry in Hangouts

I've just been messing around with Hangouts as my SMS app, and I love it besides one thing. Whenever I receive a picture it is blurry, like really low quality, when the picture is really not blurry on the other persons phone or if I use my stock SMS app. Does anyone know how I fix this?
