sharing downloaded photos

How do I share a downloaded photo in social media sites? When I press and hold the pic, I don't get an option to share. Using the menu button (like I do with pics taken on my phone) doesn't work either.

I am trying to use pics from a text msg or ones that I have downloaded from an email. Basically if I didn't take the pic with my phone, I can't do anything with it. Thanks!

You have te save it to phone first. Then use your gallery app or a file explorer like astro, then long press and share...
