Sharing panoramas in interactive mode?

GbeTech

Newbie
As I understand, the interactive mode in the panoramas you shoot is exclusive to the device you shoot them from? (As in, scrolling around).

Is there no way to share them to the rest of the world?

The dumbed down version of just a really wide picture isn't amazing.

Thanks. Yea, photosphere.

When I go into one of the spheres I've uploaded to g+, and select one of the share options, it just sends it as a flat photo.

You need to be in the correct browser, doesn't work for all. Chrome def works, not sure which others do.

View this in Chrome: https://plus.google.com/photos/106961583754186109529/albums/5864766543677561777/5864766551739677698

Yep that works!

Can you please guide me step by step how to do it? So far I've failed.

EDIT: In the Share screen, when I share with g+ it keeps it as a photosphere. Other mediums, like gmail or whatsapp make it flat.

How do you get the link of it?

Thanks again.

If you have location info in your photo sphere when you create it, you can upload it to maps and share from there (once again browser restricted)

Alright, I've uploaded a few spheres, but only one got its way to Views.

1. Does this work?
https://www.google.com/maps/views/view/117594301268404480001/photo/xM7hjpyULjIAAAAGOtjkZw?gl=nz&heading=87&pitch=89

It was taken directly from views.

In Google+ I have 2 albums, one is 'Geo Panoramas' with only 1 sphere - the one above, that was approved by Google. The "Photos from posts" album includes spheres that I've uploaded but are not on "views".

2. Does this work too?

It was taken from Google+.

3. Third option, a 3rd party app. Please tell me if it works as well.

Thanks.

Yep, all 3 worked in Firefox. Something about the perspective on option 3 wasn't as good.

The first photosphere is brilliant, came out really well.

Brilliant photos viewed in Firefox, but Option 3 didn't load.

Are you a resident Kiwi or here as a tourist?

Thanks guys. I love spheres, taking them all the time.

Yeah I'm just a tourist.. Actually leaving tonight :( NZ was probably the best time of my life. I'm originally from Israel.

Alright, so, conclusion: there's no way to share spheres from android to android. You have to view them from a PC, or from the device that took them.
A bit ******ed from Google's side I have to say.

Thanks for the memories - enjoy your travels :)

How fast do you rotate your body when taking your panoramas?

Do you use a tripod or anything to stabilize the camera? The horizon appears to remain so constant :)

Haha. Those are the stuff that I've found, that make a better sphere. I hold the phone as close as possible to my body. The ideal is that the lens rotates around itself, but that's physically impossible. Strive for the smallest perimeter when circling around with the phone. A bit of a circle (compared to a singularity) isn't that bad, especially with objects that are farther away from you. Keep in mind the height of the phone above the ground that you started with. I also use the phone in an upright position. And try to avoid inconsistent light, because the more the camera needs to adjust its exposure settings throughout the sphere, the more blurred borders you'll see. No algorithm can compensate for that perfectly...

Hope that helps :)

As soon as I get to Melbourne I'll have a PC and upload some more spheres to my account :)

I send photosphere photos over bluetooth all the time from my Nexus 5 to my Nexus 7, they show up as photosphere on the n7. I usually view them in gallery, but photos app (soon to replace gallery anyhow) works fine as well.
