I don't know what you mean by 'ripped', but if you mean any kind of crack/piracy, it's probably a Good Thing that the thread which your link points to has been removed.

No, not piracy. Its a free app that ships with the HTC Magic. No more 'illegal' than Haykuro or one of the others releasing Hero ROMS.
