In my recent search for the "dead" joss whedon series "firefly," I found myself staring down at a complete season one case for 30 dollars, this was the cheapest I had seen it available for and I was willing to part with the thirty bucks. My wife asked me if I had checked online and I suddenly remembered this fantastic app.
This application is extremely simple to use, and although it sometimes does take a moment for the camera to focus on the barcode, its certainly no longer than it would take me to search the internet for it myself. This application is a great step towards making shopping more universal, and I feel, were this app fully realized by the public, that we as mass consumers could change the way the economy functions.
I scanned the barcode, smiling at the classic checkout counter "beep" and promptyly found a cheaper boxed set on some obscure website. For a free app, ShopSavvy sure saved me a lot of money.
