Shopsavvy is one of the backbone of fantastic Android apps. When it was released, it won Google’s Android Developer Challenge. Its idea is simple: simply take a photo of a barcode of a product and Shopsavvy will tell you the best price from a string of merchandisers! You then whip out Google Maps and find your way to the cheapest merchant!
The downside is it need to be connected to the Internet. And sometimes it has trouble with weird products that you find in foreign countries.
Google has also released many apps based on taking a photo of a product viz Shopper and Google Goggles. Is there no end to the awesomeness of Android phones?
