Should I activate previous phone temporarily?

I had a Huawei Ascend til early May, when I bought a used Samsung Admire. On the Ascend, I was getting decent 3G speeds but since flashing the Admire to non-stock ROMs, I've only been getting 1X, And even that is s-l-o-w. If I were to reactivate the Ascend, would it be simple and quick to reactivate back to the Admire after I find out how my data speeds are?

Thanks,

Don't I need to use the online tool on the Metro site to enter the new (old) MEID, before programming with *228?
*228 gives you the option of activating your phone as well as many other options.
MEID is specific per device:)
Your phone number could be switched to another phone but you will not be able to use the same number for both phones.
Hope this helps!

Yeah, I don't want to use both phones at once.I figured if I could reactivate the Ascend, and see if it's getting 3g, then I'll know the Admire has a problem; if the Ascend also only gets 1X, it would more likely be a network issue. . . maybe. ;-9 Then I'll switch right back to the Admire.

Thanks!
