So my current plan actually expired late last year, and i've been waiting for just the right time to purchasing an Android phone (first one) At first had my sights set on the Atrix, then saw the Xperia Play(still don't know if that's coming ot ATT) and then the others.. So now i sit with my outdated flip phone wondering which phone to buy.. Can't jump ship cuz I have a family plan. So do I go for the inspire or Atrix or wait till March/April to see what comes down the pipe

13.3 seconds after you upgrade you will be looking at the latest/greatest *newer* phones that you can't have. So if you wait a couple of months to see what comes down the pike, it's another couple of month you have to sit there with your outdated flip phone and ramp your expectations up to an unattainable target. And *IF* there is a new superphone in April, it will soon be superseded in a few months.

It's more a matter of philosophy than ability. AT&T's top phones can pretty much do anything that can be done at the moment given the hardware limitations (ie. front facing cameras and NFC chips, etc). I doubt there will ever be an all encompassing handset that includes every feature. You have to determine what you want/need and narrow the field down to what's available within your plan. If there is nothing that fits now, you can wait, but it won't guarantee that your specific feature set will be coming in a new phone.

nothing against the inspire, but... processor + RAM + battery + resolution + internal storage + front facing cam, hdmi out... did i miss something? those are the advantages of the atrix over the inspire.

screen size + possibly brighter screen? haven't seen one yet + 8MP camera + possibly better build materials. those are the advantages of the inspire.

go read some of the first impressions im not listing all the atrix negatives here but I will respond to some

processor-dual core is worthless right now from every one with the phone most apps dont work

RAM- the inspire actually has more usable ram 768 versus 512mb the rest of the 1GB of ram on atrix is on accesible when in the laptop dock

Battery- possible but many people are getting 15+ hours on inspire

Internal storage- both phones can have up to 32G cards only a few extra gigs onboard Atrix which also isnt totally accesible

Front facing camera- if your really gonna use it every day then thats a negative but the majority do not

HDMI out- The Inspire has DLNA connection over the air most TV's all PS3, Xboxs have that and if you dont own any there is the media hub which is the size of a credit card that attaches to your tv and it and the DLNA do the same features as the tethered HDMI out but with the phone in your hand as a controller

So I dont see the real advantages, I mean for the 200 dollars more and the insane dock pricing/tethering costs and all the early reviews complaining about , apps not working, screen discoloration, motoblur sucking even more in this version, pentile matrix of the screen having issues, but those are just a few
