Should I upgrade for $99?

I was at Barnes and Noble where I bought my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook And noticed they have a promotion for $99 you can trade in and get the Samsung Galaxy Tab A. I currently have KitKat. The Tab A comes with Lollipop. I asked what the difference between the 2 devices are and they said basically the same, just a newer upgraded version. Specs. Size, RAM, storage space, etc. Are all the same. Should I Do it? I'm thinking no since I love my tab 4 and have zero problems with it. If memory /space was different then it might be worth it but just to get Lollipop? Probably not, right?

IMO, no.

I like 4.4.4 much better than 5.1.1
the colors changed and I am pastel color blind and 5.x is horrible for me.

I bought a rooted phone with 4.4.4 and I'm happy again.

My Samsung S5 did NOT experience better battery life with 5.x or 6.x

The Note 4 that had 6.x did have some neat gee whiz features that I now miss on 4.4.4 but they are not a deal breaker, I enjoy being able to control the phone better with 4.4.4

Watch some of those cheap Samsung tabs. I bought a tab 4 and it doesn't have the connections needed to run my astronomy apps. It also made a hash out of the broadcasters on At Bat.

I was not happy, bought another Acer, which does work.

Really? What a shame. I'm absolutely highly impressed with my tablet 4 nook.... It does everything my Mac does and more

Are you getting the 8 inch Tab A with S Pen? Or the new 7 inch Tab A?

The specs of the device may look the same on paper, but they're actually quite different. While they have the same screen size, RAM, memory, and battery size, the main difference is the CPU used. The Tab 4 uses an ARMv7 CPU developed in 2013, clocked at 1.2Ghz, without any discrete graphics chip. The 7 inch Tab A uses a newer (2014) ARMv8 CPU clocked higher at 1.4Ghz, with an integrated graphics chip (depending on exact model, it's either a Mali400 or an Adreno 306). Not only does this mean the newer tab is faster and able to handle apps, videos and games better, it is also more efficient in battery consumption. So yes, for $99 I'd be willing to upgrade. Plus the fact that on Android 5.1 you should be able to write on the memory card with no root needed.
