Your opinion is very importantHere are some logical thumb rules that are generally overridden by the desire for the latest.
Thumb rule 1: do you have any complaints about the quality or size of your existing display? If so consider a new phone. Ignore all reviews talking about the wonderful new displays.
Thumb rule 2: is your phone too slow for your purposes? Here again, ignore all reviews about speed processes etc. etc.
Thumb rule 3: are there any new features that you must have? Don't buy the hype on 5G.
Thumb rule 4: do you have money to burn?
Thumb rule 5 – 10: more of the same
Thank you for your adviceI'd say it depends on how much the glitches annoy you.
I'd make sure I kept backups of any important data though, in case it gets worse. But everyone should always do that anyway, since a phone that is working fine could get lost, stolen, broken or fail suddenly...
I have an S8 Plus that no longer receives updates (software or security) and sometimes glitches (shuts off, freezes up) but is fine in other aspects.
Thank you for your advice,I think jumping from the S8 to the S20 would be a big enough step up that you would enjoy it. But... You could probably find great deal on a s10 and save a ton and still get great performance and 2 years of updates.
