Should the Americans consider automated turrets instead of the wall?

Hey guys! :D

I was thinking about the wall that you Americans wanted to build and I was thinking to myself about a lot of other alternatives / questions - "What other cheaper and smarter / more effective measures should / could be possibly used to protect / secure the border?"

Now I don't know what the details of the wall entail but I was thinking to myself - what if you guys use automated turrets instead? Or even a fence? Is a fence already erected?

I have heard you guys have a fence already so was just wondering or inquiring about all the interesting details or cheaper (and faster! :)) more effective methods that are available?

You know - they (automated turrets) can be very quickly erected / deployed and not only that but they can cover a very wide area of effect and are completely free of casualties because they are totally unmanned! They have many great pros going for them! :)

If you have look at the border between North Korea and South Korea - the most heavily fortified border in the world - the South Koreans haev developed some extremely impressive technology that is completely automated!

Unfortunately though - the automated turrets occasionally by accident do kill monkeys and orangutans and other various humanoids - because the turrets sometimes mistaken them for human beings in their software and programming code which is a bit understandable.

But I don't think there are any endangered primates (monkeys, apes ect) that live along what is a very desert like area (Mexican desert?) or scenario so there shouldn't be any problem with the turrets being there in fear of the turrets wiping out rare or endangered types of primates, monkeys, orangutans ect ect.

But I could be wrong though :)

I don't really know much about what is going on there but just thought these would be interesting topics to talk about? Or will a fence be far cheaper and more effective and much quicker?

Here is the ingenious automated turret from South Korea! I love the South Koreans! - they are like the Japanese - such perfectionists!

Well the primary purpose of the recent troop deployment along that border was to protect Republican seats in the mid-terms (and hence they were withdrawn once the election was over). The "border wall", if it has a purpose, seems to be similarly-motivated: spread a scare about "the other" and use this "solution" to try to get the people you succeed in scaring to vote for you. And when Congress won't pay for it he'll just use that to attack the Dems in the next election. Politics, pure politics, and nothing to do with the realities of the situation.

As for automated turrets, there are good reasons for resisting the idea of giving machines authority to decide when to use lethal force.

But there's also a really, really big difference between the Korean border and the US one: North and South Korea are still officially at war. The last I heard the US is not at war with Mexico (or not any more than Trump seems to regard himself as at war with the rest of the world).

OT: Have you moved to US from SA @Stinky The Legend ?

SA should have never been 1 country. The cultural divides are just far too wide sadly.

I think I might take my power and influence and give massive financial (and other) support to the Cape Party that wants to make the Northern Cape, Western Cape (and other similar cultural parts of the country) an entirely separate independent country to break away form the rest of the corrupt mess that is what SA has sadly become.

There are massive cultural divides here. Afrikaans and English are the most widely spoken languages in these specific regions and have the largest concentration of certain types of people with a certain type and kind culture of European decent with certain beliefs.

Not only do we get massive cultural, social and economic oppression from the rest of these evil people but also about 75% of all taxes in the Western Cape do not return to our local sphere of life - so basically out of the 100% of taxes we pay approximately only 25% comes back to us here in the Cape... we can reduce taxes dramatically to encourage foreign investment to work with them as we need their skills and knowledge desperately. Friendly business is the best way to go! Small business is also where most employment is created. Knowledge is king.

I have been thinking about it for a very long time now.

With great power comes great responsibility. So I must do the right thing and use my power and influence to change it all for the better. And I know I can definitely change it for the better. Hopefully with relative ease.

Then we definitely should also build a massive wall or fence (or maybe even seriously consider automated turrets with the way these violent scum bags behave! But only if doesn't cost too much) to keep these evil people out that only have very bad intentions that just want to steal, rape and murder everything in sight.

And all the bad people in the rest of SA can just start stealing and killing and blaming everything on each other because they only have themselves left to blame. We will only take in the good people that have good intentions - not the bad ones.

I know there is massive potential here for a tremendous, booming success if we can just gain independence and break away from such evil and extreme oppression it could be one of the most wonderful and successful countries in the world.

Speaking of walls and to get back on topic - how is your wall coming along guys?

Which version do you prefer? Both are great in my opinion and have their own unique flavour to them.

"All in all you're just another prick in the wall"...

If people were just decent and just did the right thing and behaved themselves with good manners and intentions - none of this kind of thing would be happening in the first place.

So thus we've got to break free!

Did that "Apartheid" thing involve fences and walls? All I remember is a flashcard course in the 2nd grade (early 1960's) a Gil Scott Heron's
song (sometime in the 1970's) and "Free Nelson Mandela" (80's?).

Where does a wall fit in your experience?
