shouldn't all app descriptions mention this?

This forum is great for recommending helpful and fun apps to customize our Droids. I have the Optimus V and think it's a great phone.
But I've reached the point where when I install an app I get the low memory notification. Then I cross my fingers that the app can be moved to the SD card.
Sometimes it can be and often it cannot be. When it is the latter case I find myself having to immediately uninstall it.

I think that descriptions at the Android Market (and elsewhere) should clearly state whether an app is movable to the SD card or whether it must stay on the phone. Just MHO.

If you install/remove a lot of apps, the uninstall often leaves behind the application cache entries. Over time, this can add up to a sizeable amount of space (several hundred MB is not unusual). To resolve this, delete the contents of /data/dalvik-cache and then immediately reboot. Required entries will be recreated as needed. Unneeded entries will be gone for good, thus reclaiming valuable internal storage space.

Note that your device must be rooted to have access to /data/*.

To prevent this from happening in the future, remove apps via Settings > Applications > Manage applications. Select the desired application from the list, and then press Clear cache, followed by Clear data, and then Uninstall. Do this instead of the one-click uninstall from the Market.

I was not able to locate the dalvik-cache on my Optimus V.
I do clear the cache using App2SD.

But thanks for the idea.
