Sign out of gmail IMAP sessions

Ken Baker

Lurker
I use a number of email clients, from a number of locations, with a number of different gmail accounts. Frequently, I find that all of my IMAP 'slots' are used up, and I can't connect via IMAP. The only solution is to log in to each account on gmail via a web browser and remotely sign out of all other sessions. This is a bit of a pain, and it struck me that it would be useful to have an android app which would remotely close all currently open IMAP sessions on all registered gmail accounts, with a single click.

Thoughts?

Probably not exactly what your want, but you can try this:

1) IMPORTANT: Select “Request desktop site” option in your device web browser menu. Following link might help if you have firefox for android installed: http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39...request-desktop-sites-on-firefox-for-android/

2) Open https://mail.google.com — you should not get redirected to mobile site.

3) Click on the "Details" link inside gmail in your device web browser ( described here https://support.google.com/mail/answer/45938 ). Details link will take you to "Sign out all other sessions" button inside "Activity on this account" pop-up window. Clicking this button will free up all IMAP slots (you can try it on a PC first if that's easier).

4) To save a step or two, you can try to find out url behind "Details" link on your device (this url might appear on top of the "Activity on this account" pop-up window after you click Details link). Url might be dynamic based on IP address, so I am not sure if it will work every time everywhere, but should work from the same location. If it works, you can make that url your homepage (in your device web browser that you don't use often - Firefox?), but you'll still need to click "Sign out all other sessions" button after browser opens.

Let me know how you make out.
