Signal strength.

I have an LG 800GHL and an LG L86C (Showtime). Both are active.
I just purchased and activated the 86C.

At my house the LG 800 usually gets 2 - 4 bars signal.
The LG L86C (Showtime) almost always has 0 (no bars).

As far as I know both are using the Verizon towers. Am with Net10.

Is there any way I can get better signal strength with the Showtime??

Thanks H. Hampton.

Even two phones of the same model and manufacturing run will show different signal strengths at the same time in the same spot. The indicator isn't calibrated. (It's basically meaningless. One phone might work fine with 0 bars while the one next to it struggles to keep a signal with 4 bars.)

That is true, but the LG 800 works fine and the Showtime does not at the the same location
at my house. Closer in the Showtime works great. I like the phone.
thanks for your reply.

Yeah the signal strength indicator is kinda wonky on the Showtime for some reason...I tend to have calls dropped one in awhile at full strength while at the same time I can talk for quite awhile with 0 bars. One thing you can try to do is update the preferred roaming list to see if that helps. Just dial *22891 and let it do it's thing
