I have got an Ascend 2 from Cricket running Android 2.3.5, the Huawei "stock" boot image.
I've gone into Settings->Sound and made sure that Vibrate is set to "only in silent mode". But when my phone is in silent mode, and I receive an incoming message or call, I only get the notification light, no vibration.
I also checked that vibration works with other applications and such so it doesn't seem like a hardware issue.
It did this before, and after a while I re-imaged from the recovery image. And once I started installing applications it started doing this again, so I'm wondering if it is possible for a user space application to override my system configuration.
Any thoughts?
