Silent mode on specified calls a bit delayed

Hi, I'm new to these forums and new to tasker. I've set a profile to enable silent mode on incoming 1800* calls, but it lags and I get the start of a ring before it cuts out. Is there anyway to fine-tune this? Or can the ringer be delayed a bit when calls arrive to compensate?

Hi @darob, and welcome to Android Forums

I'm afraid you're going to be limited by how quickly Tasker can process an incoming call versus the system kicking off the ringer. Tasker won't recognize the incoming call until it's already ringing, as you've discovered.

A possible workaround would be to set your phone to silent by default, and let it ring out loud if the incoming call is not from an 800 number.

Hi codesplice. I'll have a look at that, although I think silent mode silences everything so it could get a bit complicated. For some reason the action "silence ringer" isn't available on my phone. Still very satisfying punting telemarketers even if I haven't completely shut them up!
