Sim card problem

i recently bought sony xperia-ray,so far evrything worksfine.but i got one problem,my previous phone was nokia 5233,when i insert my sim card(!dea) to my X-ray,i check 3G compatibility issue by sending 'CHECK' to 12345.then i got a reply which i have no idea to do with it "your handset nokia 5233 doesn't support 3G" doesn't it mean that the sim card doesn't recognise my new device.
PlIZZ HElP.
