Help Sim Card Used on 2 of the same devices?

Ok this is the issue, on LG Stylo4 #(1) phone I've owned right up to the 180 day mark to have it unlocked by the carrier, But a software problem occurred that force me to send it to an LG center for repairs. Now as phone #(1) was out for repairs I purchased another exact phone which I will name# (2) with a new SIM card and all. Now a few days pass and phone# (1) is on its way back from LG repair center while phone#(2) is activated. Now my question is Can I use phone#(2) SIM card in phone #(1) since it was so close to the unlock period and ask the carrier to have it unlocked with #(2) phone SIM card?

I hope this made since:thinking:

Are both phones on the same carrier? If so I don't think it would be a problem. Also, phone 1 is the one unlocked, right? I would think you wouldn't have a problem beyond possibly requesting the unlock.

If both sims are from the same carrier then there won't be any prompt to unlock, it will just work.

Was the second phone unlocked?
I don't think it will work. IMEI numbers are different. That being said I think you can use an unlocked phone with any SIMcard.

No #(2) phone is not unlocked but the first phone was eligible to be unlocked before I had the software issue to be sent out to get repaired.

Yes both phones are from the same carrier.

I wanted to unlock phone 1 to be used with another carrier. But I know phone 2 will not be eligible to be unlocked until the 180 day period was reached.

Well I just found out and you were right, SIM card 2 indeed did not work and phonei (1). Customer service said that they will unlock phone(1) but the SIM card I had in phone (2) would not work in phone (1). So I'm giving you best answer for this one.
"Cheers"

Thanks for clearing that up with emperical research @KBU2.

I have two OEM unlocked phones and plan to test if the SIM I got from Sprint will work in both. If that works it seems to me that means if you don't but it unlocked directly from the manufacturer you can't switch carriers.
