SIM size

Can someone tell me what size SIM the UK/Europe variant will use? I'm pre-ordering so will need to know.

I would assume nano-SIM, like other current Samsungs AFAIK. You should be able an appropriate size SIM from your carrier anyway, if the one you have isn't the press-out type.

British carriers tell you nothing because the sales staff know nothing, ask them anything more than how to send a text and they'll tell you to phone the technical dept!
