Simple paid app question

If you pay for an app, install it on your phone then later on for whatever reason you reset your phone or do something that results in the app being deleted, do you have to pay for the app again (assuming you didn't back it up) if you wanted it to be installed again on your phone?

i was under the impression that once you've paid for it you can uninstall and install it on your phone as many times as you want?

Correct. After you pay for an app you can delete/reinstall it as many times as you want (assuming it's still on the market and that you use the same google account).

is it possible to pay for these apps over the pc internet rather than via the phone? would prefer that then entering credit card details over the phone :/

You setup your Google checkout from your PC with the cc number. Then log in to google and the market place will know and ask to use that. So you don't have to enter your cc each time.

Then again, I would like Google to not have any of that info. But that's life.
