Help Simple Reset instead of removing the battery?

Hi! As you know, removing the back lid is a hard technique to reset the Cliq XT. Anyone has any idea if it is possible to reset the phone (pressing some buttons together or pressing some buttons in sequence) instead of removing the battery?

My phone froze once and I needed 6 of my friends to try to open it (til I gave up and it died with no power left and, thank god, it rebooted when I recharged). Right now, it is frozen again. Let's see if I can get an answer before the battery dies again (which I doubt, cause it is frozen with the lights on).

Anyone wanna share good advices?

T-Mobile told me that I need to briefly remove the battery from my G2 every two weeks, to do some kind of reset. I've done that for over a year. I just bought a new protective case, and I was in the store today trying to figure out how to remove the case from my phone so that I could even get to the battery, and she said "Ah, just reboot it every night." Cool, I already do that anyway, but now I've heard two different answers, both from the same carrier: "you just need to reboot the phone daily" & "you just need to remove the battery biweekly". Since removing the new casing I bought last week is a major pain, I'd rather just reboot the phone every night, but I'm looking for anyone "in the know" to tell me if that's enough to keep Android running smoothly, it's not like I know what the difference is between a hard reboot, a soft reboot, and a pair of footwear... TIA
