Simple Security for Wireless

I thought it maybe of interest. I try to keep the excerpt short, in this case maybe to short, so just a bit more from same source.

"Coincidentally, a week later, at the 20th Usenix Security Symposium, MIT researchers presented the first security scheme that can automatically create connections between wireless devices and still defend against MITM attacks."

Isnt this basically what Diffie-Helman (sp?) is supposed to prevent?

I'll have to read the paper later. But it seems a bit silly, since there have been sucessfull attacks on 2G and 3G for years. But the cost of setting up a fake tower was somewhat of a deterrence (AFAIK).

Thanks for the link though, this stuff always intrigues me.
