Just recently got a new HTC desire running v2.2.
I am having endless problems with Skype and hoping somebody might have some ideas.
When I use Skype it originally works but after a couple of minutes the quality gets so bad it is totally unusable. Hanging up and redialing sorts this out but again after a few minutes the quality degenerates again.
I have 2 apps installed that can monitor app usage. Networkusage & Trafficstats. From looking at the stats of these apps I believe the problem is due to insufficient bandwidth. Just recently 30 mins on Skype used >900Mb. 460 download and 460 upload. Over a 30 min period that would explain the breakup as that amount of data would battle to get down through my internet connection. I am also really worried about the phone using my 3G connection as I have a monthly limit of 500Mb. Currently I am only using wifi. My 3g is disconnected.
Using my old Iphone3 the Skype works perfectly over the same wifi connection.
Does anyone have any ideas on why the app should be transferring so much data? I have been Googling but have not found anything useful.
