Skype not sending Video - MXQ Quad-Core Smart Android TV

Hi all,
Skype video transmission is not working for me with Microsoft HD-3000 camera. Video is received ok.

Wondering if anyone has a fix or can point me at a certified list of video cameras to use here.

The setup is
- MXQ Pro 4K Android TV
- Microsoft HD-3000 video camera
- Power USB hub
- Latest Android TV update & Skype update

Using Skype on a call
- audio works both ways
- Video is received but not sent
- Video of myself does display in the Skype client prior to a call using the HD-3000 camera. So the camera is working and can be accessed by the Skype client. It is just not sent.

Appreciate any ideas.
Cheers
Kent.

This may seem like a silly question but have you tried using Skype without the USB hub?

Also, why would you need a hub? Aren't four USB ports enough?

It should be mentioned that Microsoft does say on its website that this isn't compatible with Android so if you are having problems it really should come as no surprise.

Hi,
On one of the Android forums it was listed as tested ok, seems not the case with the versions Im running.

The USB hub was used as many claim that the USB ports don't have sufficient power to drive the camera.

Open to recommendations for a new camera. I couldn't spot a list of supported cameras for this device - or Android TV.

Cheers
Kent.

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of that...
...although I have misgivings about plugging externally powered USB hubs into ANY kind of device.
I lost a laptop that way years ago!
