Skype on Android phones...

Got a few questions and, I cannot get skype to respond...

1. Does skype video work on a 4G phone using 4G (it does not seem to on my 3G phone but does on the same phone using good Wi-Fi)
2. Does buying skype service result in better skype phone to phone video?

and, a related question...

3. Does buying skype service for ones laptop get one a better signal or clearer signal than using the 'free' service?
4. Does anyone know how to get a hold of an actual human at skype???

My phone (Droid III) came with the 'skype mobile' app which refused to let me video call. I loaded the different Skype v2.8.0.920 app and schzam..I get video skype (sort of now and again)...

AFAIK Skype only supports video on certain phones and US carriers for whatever reasons...bribes and backhanders probably. When I put the official Skype on my Galaxy S, no video. But I do have a hacked version which works just fine.

I don't think there are any actual real human beings at Skype.

Probably the same unofficial hacked Skype I use. Of course there's no guarantee how well it will work with a particular phone or Android version. You may get lucky, you may not be so lucky.

I really do not understand why some versions work and others do not. I would think it would be in Skype's interest to provide the best service as possible on as many phones as possible???

Do you have a link to the 'hacked version' of skype that works?

Windows is planning on adding ads to non-paid Skype. "For fruitful discussion of products" Huh?

How will this play on other OS like Android or Ubuntu? Can they put ads in older versions downloaded before MS bought Skype?

That explains the pop up adds that began arriving on my PC's skype after the last skype upgrade...Obviously Microsoft could care less about their customers. Hopefully Google will be better.
