Skype Video

So in Skypes latest update it states that video is supported for the Samsung Galaxy Tab. I don't see any video options in the settings or during the calls. Is this working for anyone else?

In the latest update it says "samsung galaxy tab" so i think they are taking about the 7 inch tab.... I downloaded it too but haven't got time to see if it would work on the 10.1...

Mine doesn't work either. I concluded they meant the 7" version as well. I haven't tried it on my SGS2 to see if that works (definitely a supported device in the new version) but it probably does.

I checked Skype web site on this issue. They confirmed that due to some hardware issues in SGT 10.1 they are not able to offer video option.

Well, that's a real nail in the coffin for Android devices for some people. A lot of people, myself included, want Skype video calling capability on a tablet.

Google Talk doesn't have these issues, why would Skype?

Since Google makes android I would be surprised if Google talk was not supported by GT 10.1 but for skype I'm not surprised that it is not since it is available for many different OS's which means they have to have different versions of the same program to support the different OS.

I understand....but a new OS isn't a hardware issue (as stated above as Skype's reason). As far as the HARDWARE goes, I was saying that if GT can do it, so can Skype.

I think it is a software issue since if others can support the tab then skype can. I think they use hardware as an issue is because they had issues with it working properly so they disabled the feature until they solve the problem with the program.
