Just emailed Sky to see if they have any more news on a skysports android app and got the following response :

We have no information regarding the Android app development. Apple and Sky worked together to develop an app for the iphone, perhaps you should lobby Google as they are the developers of the Android OS.
Remote record (Sky +) is available for Android phones.
