Slacker for Android - you can make it happen

Slacker, a really great streaming radio app available for free at Slacker.com http://www.slacker.com/, has their own device and a subscription business model for more features.

Of note to us - they just released a streaming app for Blackberry and an iPhone app is coming soon. I want an Android app...don't you?

To get one - go to link above and near the bottom you will see "Use this space to send us feedback", send them a message telling them you wand an Android version.

The more the merrier.

just curious... how does Slacker differ from imeem (which we already have a nice app for) ???

I'm all for multiple choices, just curious...

Imeem is "awesome" I love it. Here's my take on the two.

Slacker and Imeem both have personal creation channels, but the Slacker Radio channels of which there are hundreds are actually crafted by humans like a real radio. Free Slacker gives you access to the whole catalog of music they have signed up to use, like Imeem. I don't know who's catalog is larger.

I don't, but if you subscribe to slacker you can download any song you like for use offline which is a nice feature for use in places you don't have net access.

I think the biggest difference is the way things are organized. I went to Imeem's website and tried using it to improve my mobile experience. I didn't "love" it. Slacker was easy to use, and had a lot of great information on albums, artists the like. I learned all about various types of music, so while not music itself it makes it more interesting. I guess you would say better and easier organized content.

Does that help?

I sent a request also. Imeem is a lot nicer to look at than last fm but I think that last fm has more artists.

Personally, I'm more interested in a Pandora app. I used iMeem until Streamfurious came out, now I pretty much just stick with that.
