Slide Me

For those of you that haven't heard of Slide me its another App store program that has Tons and tons of apps that are not on the market. Lots of useful apps. Just thought i share this awesome app store with you all.
https://slideme.org/
Just go to Applications then at the bottom right you will see download SAM. That will put the app store on your phone from then on you will no longer have to go to the site to download apps. Let me know what you all think.

I posted this response in another thread but a few days ago, I had a rather bad experience with the guy currently running SlideME. I uploaded an app to SlideME (AppFriend, which shares app info on Facebook) and he got pissed off, deleted the app, revoked my account and banned my IP from accessing their site, all without an explanation. This seems pretty extreme to me and in my view, shows a rather ugly side to SlideME, one that isn't very open.

There is no way this app store will survive with that type of bad community behavior. The people this is hurting are the users of SlideME.

So, no thanks. I'll support places like AndAppStore, which are open and good members of the Android community.

At a quick glance (a QUICK glance now mind you) it appears to have older versions of apps there than in the regular Market. I saw three apps that are in both markets where SlideMe had an older version. I'd assume that means that SlideMe is not as supported/updated by devs as the Market is.

If that's the case, I'll stick with AppBrain - the best Android apps and games on the Android market
