SlideIT demo expired

I had thought that the "Lite" version of SlideIT was nagware -- that you could use it for free as long as you were willing to put up with occasional interrupts by a pop-up asking you to buy the full version. That turns out not to be the case: the "Lite" version is actually a "demo" version that stops working after a while (apparently a week, if I have my dates straight).

Apart from the fact that it's deceptive advertising to promote a time-limited demo as a "Lite" version, the full version is still not available for purchase in the market.

As much as I've enjoyed the app over the last week, I think they've lost my business. Back to ShapeWriter.

So far it's working for me today but that's terrible to hear. It really has been the most accurate for me still. It's too bad that the company that so far has produced the most accurate product for me, much more than the others, has the worst business-sense of all the apps. If this is the case and mine does the same soon I'll have to learn to use one of the other ones, Shapewriter most likely.

The developer just released the full version of SlideIT into the market. Unfortunately, it's pretty expensive: €5.99 ($8.13 at the current exchange rate). I think I'll hold off and see if they have a sale or lower the price (I think they already did lower it once; if I'm not mistaken, the price was higher last night when I first saw it in the market).

I had written to the developer about the expiration of the demo and the absence of the full version; they wrote back that I could continue using the demo version by uninstalling and reinstalling it. I've verified that that works. I don't know if the new version is an actual "lite" version or if it's still a time-limited demo. I guess I'll probably continue using it until it either expires again or I notice a price reduction in the full version. It still works better for me than ShapeWriter, and has mostly better features, too.

Thanks for the update. I'm trying out Swype right now as well and it seems to be pretty accurate but it's not very intuitive on a few of the options I got used to with SlideIT. If this is the case I'll re-download SlideIT and use it till I can't anymore or the price comes down to a reasonable amount.

WOW, love this Slide It. I hope this kills Swype, which is so unpredictable, and what I mean by this is, you download it one day and the next day it says the trial period is over, or you are either on a waiting list or not. Please, this is ridiculous, I rather pay the $8.00 and have no unpredictability.
