Hey all,
I'm debating whether to purchase a new Tablet PC, a new netbook or a Flo TV and welcome suggestions on which to get.
I work 9PM - 5:30AM 5 nights a week and get rather bored waiting for phone calls as one might imagine. So, I usually listen to Pandora on my Droid and surf the web.
I'm interested in getting something to watch TV with while at work. (The IBM CrapStations are locked down pretty well and have sound disabled via Citrix... I work at a financial institution so no way around that without losing my job.)
I've looked into Flo TV but I'm not too keen on the idea of paying $15/mo for the channels--especially considering I work at night and we all know how sub-par night-time programming is.
I also have a SlingBox set up at home and am definitely planning on purchasing the SlinBox app when it comes out. My concern is the bandwidth usage. I intend to use the app daily and am worried I'll go over my allotted 5GB every month. (Or whatever Big Red will be changing the tiered caps to.)
I've just been itching to buy something new and was wondering maybe if anybody would have any ideas on what the SlingBox app might use as far as bandwidth goes. I occasionally tether and watch Hulu on my netbook but that uses about 200MB for a 45 minute show so I don't want to tip off the Verizon gods and get smacked with a huge cell phone bill.
There's no Wi-Fi at work for obvious reasons so that leaves me in kind of a pickle.
What would YOU do?
